Description

Hyperscape delivers immersive and realistic VR experiences by capturing real-world environments and reconstructing the data with gaussian splatting. With the feature of avatar copresence, users are enabled to visit the world with their own avatar together with friends and inspire social iteration.

The project initially had problems with blending Avatar, which is mesh based, into the Hyperscape environment, which is splats based. The lighting condition in the Hyperscape environment is very challenging for delivering high quality avatars. I managed to lead a team of Tech Artists and Lighters to recreate dynamic lighting based on Hyperscape data for individual 1p worlds to greatly restore the rendering quality of avatars in the product.
